Catherine Greene

Specialist Advisor

Catherine is a Specialist Advisor at Principia. She brings over twenty years’ experience in the financial sector, much of which was spent as an allocator to hedge funds and private equity funds.

Catherine specialises in building relationships across all levels to identify and resolve complex problems where information is incomplete, conflicting, or fragmented. She excels at reconciling divergent perspectives and synthesising complex data into clear, actionable decisions, structures, and systems. This capability has been applied across roles as an investor, chair, and COO.

As Director of Alternative Assets at Prudential M&G, Catherine managed a £3 billion allocation. Her analysis of manager insights identified rising credit risk ahead of the 2008 financial crisis, leading to a strategic portfolio restructuring that delivered strong performance during and after the downturn. This period exposed the disconnect between financial theory and real-world behaviour, prompting them to pursue a PhD at the London School of Economics.

Most recently, as COO of the Anthropocene Fixed Income Institute (AFII), a financially focused not-for-profit, Catherine led coordination across research and operations and strengthened decision-making processes. She also designed and implemented an impact measurement framework from defining impact through to building the tools required to capture and analyse data.

Catherine brings board-level experience as Chair of Trustees of the Snowdon Trust, where she enhanced governance through improved information flow and stronger team dynamics.
