George Tsai
Senior Associate
With expertise spanning ethics, philosophy, AI, and cross-cultural thought, George brings both academic depth and real-world experience to Principia's advisory work. As Professor and Chair of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, where he developed the university's first course in AI Ethics, he helps leaders think more clearly about the ethical dimensions of today's most complex challenges.
Before pursuing a career in philosophy, George worked as an Analyst in Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division in New York.
He went on to hold research appointments at the Australian National University and the Centre for Advanced Studies at LMU Munich, and is now Professor and Chair of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, where he developed the university’s first course in AI Ethics.
George holds a BA from Amherst College and a PhD in Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley.
